Kathakali Lecture-Demonstration

Singapore Kairalee Kala Nilayam, in collaboration with Bhaskar Arts Academy, organised a Kathakali lecture-demonstration (lecdem) led by renowned artist Kalamandalam Biju.

The session provided participants with an insightful introduction to the classical art form of Kathakali, covering its history, expressive techniques, facial gestures, and storytelling elements. Through live demonstrations, attendees gained a deeper appreciation of the intricacies and discipline involved in this traditional performance art.

The workshop drew around 40 attendees, making it an engaging and educational experience that contributed to the preservation and promotion of Indian classical arts within the community.
